With its new modular system of parts for aseptic valves within the Evoguard valve range, Krones now offers the right components for all applications within the aseptic process. The new concept underlying these aseptic valves is based on extensive tests, which were carried out under production conditions in the valve technology field, and on the use of modern methods of analysis and engineering design. With this data in particular it has been possible to realise optimised details of design on all components. For you this means not only top performance from the individual components but also coherent concepts for your process as a whole.

ESL valves

The specialists for products with an extended shelf life (ESL).

They offer a high level of safety – and yet are less expensive than aseptic components: Evoguard valves for products with an extended shelf life. A high level of hygiene, but without the price tag that comes with aseptic valve technology? A requirement that we often encounter in the world of beverage manufacture. Our answer: The Evoguard ESL series. It comprises seat, control and double seat mixproof valves in hygienic design – and thus incorporates the entire production of sensitive ESL products in safe processes. Its combination of low investment costs and a long service life makes it particularly attractive from an economic viewpoint.

The Evoguard ESL program fulfils the requirements on valve series in hygiene class IV. Its area of application comprises sensitive refreshment drinks without preservatives, as well as drinks distributed outside of the cold chain. New and innovative design details make both the seat valve and the double seat mixproof valve exceptionally conscientious guardians of product safety.

PRODUCT DETAILS

The most important part of any valve or shut-off device is the seal. A safe, reliable production flow is only guaranteed if the product path can be connected and blocked again. To ensure that this is the case, EVOGUARD valves are subjected to extensive testing. FEM analysis has been run on all valves to evaluate the structural performance of the seal and simulate the maximum load. From the user perspective, this means that the seal is as safe and reliable as possible, and material wear is kept to a minimum.

Single seat EVOGUARD valves are designed to deliver high performance during day-to-day operation. The configuration of the valve disk with balancer minimises damage caused by hammering to valves that close in the direction of flow. The metal stop on the valve disk and the positioning of the seal prevent excessive stress on the seal. Optimal compliance with hygienic design is another outstanding feature of the valves.

EVOGUARD overflow valves contain all the construction details of seat valves for a high performance during the day-to-day operation. Besides, no special tools are necessary for the adjustment of the product pressure. The design of the valve disk ensures optimal flow conditions. The metal stop on the valve disk and the positioning of the seal prevent excessive stress on the seal also with air pressure superposition in the actuator. Optimal compliance with hygienic design is another outstanding feature of the valves.

EVOGUARD vacuum valves provide design features analogue to seat valves, for a high performance during the day-to-day operation. The design of the product contacting area ensures optimal cleaning conditions. The valve is installed horizontally, therefore dirt deposits on the outer surface cannot enter the product room. In addition, the Hygienic Design requirements are optimally fulfilled.

The EVOGUARD double seal valve provides safe isolation of product chambers as well as seal monitoring. This seat valve has a threaded valve disk, a built-in safety chamber and two seals. The safety chamber can be monitored and cleaned using two flush valves. Any seal defect causes leakage which can be detected at the flush valve. The seal can then be quickly replaced.

  • Double seat valves are needed to help manage the flow of product or cleaning fluids in highly automated systems. Pre-programmed routings can be used to control the production sequence.
  • Parallel flows in a tank farm can be reliably kept separate, increasing the efficiency of production operations. The design configuration and seal geometry are the essential features of this valve technology. Two factors play a crucial role in design for maximum reliability and durability:
    • Axial and radial sealing in the valve housing using an identical seal and
    • Static fixing point decoupled from the dynamically loaded sealing point.
  • The actuator has a built-in timing function which supports fast, short cycle times and keeps air consumption to an absolute minimum. This gives machine designers great flexibility to deploy double seat valve blocks.

The ESL valve is the nodal point for connections between individual pipe lines.
